A Conversation with Mathilde Widding

Mathilde Widding is a young Norwegian artist and songwriter influenced and inspired by 60’s soul and contemporary music in genres such as soul and jazz. With her mature and playful vocals she has made an impression on the music scene around the world. Mathilde invited us into her soulful soundscape with her debut single “Halfway”.

Since then she has released the following songs, “Stronger” and “Love” (and everything between) which is the first release from her upcoming debut album.

“My Mr. Right” is a modern and groovy soul song, that showcases Mathilde’s creative and versatile vocals, in combination with her and her teams new thinking, songwriting and production efforts. “My Mr. Right” earned her a spin on New Music Friday Norway.

“Tangled up in blue” was Mathilde Widding’s fourth release and this catchy modern soul song ones again showcases the young artists unique style and her rich vocal expression. “Tangled up in blue” follows neatly in the footsteps of Widding’s previous releases.

Mathilde Widding is now out with her new single “Goodbyes”. It’s a modern soul / R&B inspired song. It’s rich, soulful and laden with a heart – wrenching depth. Once again, Mathilde Widding showcases her distinctive vocals, imbued with raw emotion and her soulful touch. “Goodbyes” is flowing smoothly through the valleys of soul, retro soul and R&B and it’s Mathilde Widding’s fifth release. The song was released February 9TH 2024. 

“Spells me under” is a soulful and jazzy single.

Mathilde Widding qoutes: If you’ve ever been “really down” you’ll probably recognize the desperation and the lingering pain in this song. With “Spells me under” being her sixth release, it’s clear that Widding is carving her own path in the world of music with style and soul!
