From the gritty streets of Montego Bay, Jamaican artist Chev B delivers his most powerful track yet – “Poverty Run Too Deep” – a haunting fusion of dancehall grit, trap basslines, and unfiltered truth.

Opening with the striking words:
“Poverty, poverty, it a run too deep / System rig and it rob we sleep / But me still here, still a beat /One day we rise and claim our seat.”
The single dives head-first into the reality of generational struggle while holding on to the fire of resilience. Chev B’s sharp lyricism paints vivid pictures – mothers scrubbing floors with a smile, youth with no shoes but a lion’s heart, and a community that refuses to break.
“This song isn’t for pity,” says Chev B. “It’s for truth. I sing for the ones who know hunger but still hustle, for the ghetto youth who refuse to fold. It’s a chant to rise, to wipe off the dirt, and to know we’re kings born for the land – not for hurt.”

With “Poverty Run Too Deep”, Chev B cements his unique brand of pain music – the fusion of street narrative and survivor’s mindset – while pushing authentic Jamaican storytelling to the global stage.
