REGGAE HITSVILLE EP01 4-1-2025 Hosted BY MARK-XTREME
todayJanuary 31, 2025 10 3
Blending global pop with a reggaeton beat, Crazy/Sanity captures the internal battle of letting one’s guard down in the fight for love. The song dives deep into the struggle between emotional vulnerability and self-protection, a theme that many can relate to.
The music video brings this story to life through the journey of Thalia, who kayaks to an island in her mind—an isolated space she has created for herself. Inspired by the winding rivers of Florida’s springs, the visual narrative follows her as she navigates the barriers she has built, mirroring the complexities of the heart. Through this journey, she ultimately finds freedom, embracing self-acceptance and appreciation.
“This project is particularly special to me because it the first time that I have been able to bring all the musical influences most dear to me, in one song! I hope to reach an audience looking for a unique fusion of sounds, like that of Crazy/Sanity ” Thalia Sophia says.
About Thalia Sophia
Thalia Sophia is a singer-songwriter and recording artist with a culturally mixed background. With an immigrant mom from Germany and a Chicano dad, Thalia draws musical influences that are as diverse as she is. Having been born in Miami, she aims to create unique fusions of sounds that are equally culturally mixed. Growing up, she was influenced by many different styles of music, from old school reggaeton and cumbia, to European pop, to chill blues and reggae.
Thalia won a number of awards in musical theatre and competed in the internationally televised singing competition, La Voz Kids. She decided to take a quick detour in her music career when she was offered a full ride scholarship to complete her B.S. on a pre-medical track. However, it wasn’t long until she was back on stage, performing at the Gloria Estefan’s Restaurant. With her music, she aspires to create a cultural bridge by blending languages, genres, and styles.
